Checkpoint

The gay checkpoint is the heart of Hein & Fiete. It provides a lot of information on gay and bisexual life to make you feel comfortable in Hamburg. We inform you about HIV, Aids and safer sex, about possibilities of leisure activities and about news from the gay scene. We also can answer other questions, e.g., about violence against gays, sex and party drugs or suitable sports activities for gay men. 

In addition, the gay checkpoint today is primarily a place for professional events and a meeting place for various self-help groups and associations. Furthermore, the checkpoint is the drop-in center for our free and anonymous testing counseling.

Lovingly restored and redesigned in 2012, the checkpoint presents itself today with colors and shapes of the 50s. The gay checkpoint is open Monday to Friday from 4-8 pm. Every day, four volunteers ensure that everyone feels welcome and well looked after and informed.

To make it easy for everyone to implement safer sex, we sell condoms and lubricants at very reasonable prices at our checkpoint. Furthermore, Hein & Fiete also offers nice accessories, that are otherwise not available in Hamburg. The profits from this sale are directly used for our prevention work. We also regularly offer pre-sale tickets to the hottest parties in town, e.g. Leatherparty.
